Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how Docora subscription billing (billed through Paddle.com as Merchant of Record) is cancelled and when refunds may apply. It does not cover payments your clients make to you for proposals, contracts, or invoices — those payments are collected outside Docora (for example via your own Stripe account or bank transfer) and are solely between you and your clients.
1. Scope
This policy applies only to Docora paid subscription plans (Starter, Pro, and Advanced), including free trials that convert to paid subscriptions. Free plan usage has no subscription charge.
2. Free Trials
Paid plans include a free trial period as described at checkout (currently 7 days unless otherwise stated).
- You will not be charged for the subscription until the trial ends, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- Cancel at any time during the trial from your account billing settings to avoid conversion to a paid subscription.
- Once a trial converts to a paid subscription, the cancellation and refund rules below apply.
3. How to Cancel
You may cancel your Docora subscription at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Subscription (or the billing portal provided by Paddle).
- Cancellation stops future renewals.
- Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period already paid for (or until the date shown in your account), unless otherwise stated at cancellation.
- After the period ends, your account typically remains available on the Free plan limits.
4. Refunds for Docora Subscriptions
Docora subscription charges are processed by Paddle. Where a refund is approved, it is issued by Paddle to the original payment method.
Our standard practice (subject to Paddle’s policies and applicable law):
- Within 7 days of the first paid charge after a trial (or after purchase if no trial applied): you may request a full refund of that initial charge by contacting support@docora.io. We generally grant first-charge goodwill refunds when the request is made promptly and the account has not been used in a clearly abusive way.
- After that window, or for subsequent renewals: subscription fees are generally non-refundable. You may still cancel to prevent future renewals; we do not routinely pro-rate unused time for mid-cycle cancellations.
- Billing errors / duplicate charges: Contact us promptly. We will work with Paddle to correct legitimate billing mistakes.
- Chargebacks: If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, we may suspend the account while the dispute is resolved.
Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer law in your jurisdiction.
5. Annual Plans
If you subscribe annually, the same cancellation rules apply: you can cancel to stop the next renewal. Mid-term pro-rated refunds for unused months are not routinely offered after the initial goodwill window in Section 4, except where required by law or approved as an exception.
6. Changes to Plans (Upgrades / Downgrades)
Plan changes are handled through Paddle’s billing system. Timing of proration, credits, or immediate vs next-period changes depends on Paddle’s checkout and subscription rules shown at the time of change. If something looks incorrect on your invoice, contact support@docora.io.
7. Client Payments Collected Through Docora Tools
Docora is not the merchant of record for money your clients pay you. Refunds, chargebacks, and disputes for those payments must be handled between you, your client, and your payment provider (Stripe, your bank, etc.). See our Terms of Service for the payment-processing disclaimer.
8. How to Request a Refund
Email support@docora.io with:
- The email address on your Docora account
- Approximate date and amount of the charge
- A brief reason for the request
We aim to respond within a few business days. Approved refunds are processed by Paddle and may take additional time to appear on your statement.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice.
