Getting Started

Why use Docora

Docora is built for freelancers and small agencies who sell work through proposals — not for enterprise teams that need a bloated suite of features they will never open.

One flow, one tool

Instead of stitching together a proposal tool, a contract app, an invoicing product, and a payment link, Docora keeps the commercial lifecycle in one place:

  1. Draft a proposal with AI
  2. Send it for client approval
  3. Generate a contract and collect an e-signature
  4. Convert the approved proposal into invoices (full or partial)
  5. Collect payment and track status

That continuity matters: invoices inherit the approved proposal’s currency and totals, contracts link back to the same deal, and client records build automatically as you work.

AI-native drafting

On New Proposal, you describe the project (client, brief, currency, optional budget). Docora drafts a full proposal in seconds — title, introduction, scope, timeline, pricing, and terms — so you are editing a real starting point, not staring at a blank template. You can rewrite with AI again after feedback.

Flexible payment collection

Invoice payment methods are bring-your-own:

  • Stripe checkout — paste your restricted API key; Docora creates the webhook and marks invoices paid when Checkout completes
  • Bank transfer — show your bank details; you confirm payment manually
  • Other payment link — PayPal.me, Wise, or any URL you already use

You choose what works for your country and your clients. Docora does not force a single processor.

Your client’s money never goes through Docora

Docora is not a payment intermediary. With Stripe, clients pay your Stripe account. With bank transfer or a manual link, funds go straight to you. Docora records status, sends notifications, and helps you refund or follow up — it does not hold or route client funds.

Multi-currency, locked when it counts

Pick a currency when you create a proposal (default USD). It stays editable until the client approves. After approval, currency locks with the agreed terms so invoices and contracts stay consistent. Invoices inherit the proposal currency.

Right-sized for freelancers and small agencies

Plans scale from Free through Advanced with clear limits (proposals per month, contracts, client CRM, branding, analytics) rather than enterprise modules you will never configure. The dashboard focuses on pipeline value, attention items, and getting your first proposal, branding, and payments set up.

If you want step-by-step setup next, start with Creating your account or Creating a proposal with AI.

This documentation is a living guide and may not cover every edge case yet. Features and labels can change as Docora evolves.
