Proposals
Creating a proposal with AI
Docora drafts a full proposal from a short project brief.
Steps
- Open New Proposal: desktop sidebar New Proposal, or on mobile the floating + button (or go to
/dashboard/new). - Enter:
- Client name (autocomplete if the client already exists)
- Client email (optional here, but required later to convert to an invoice or contract)
- Project description — what you are proposing to do
- Currency (required; defaults to USD)
- Budget range (optional)
- Click Generate proposal.
Docora creates a draft and opens the proposal editor. Generation counts toward your monthly proposal limit (Free: 10/month, Starter: 30/month, Pro/Advanced: unlimited). If you hit the limit, you will see an upgrade prompt.
Terms: AI vs your template
- If you have a default terms template saved in Settings → Profile, new proposals use that text for Terms (AI still drafts title, introduction, scope, timeline, and pricing). The New Proposal form shows Using your saved terms template with a link to edit it.
- If no template is saved, AI drafts Terms along with the rest of the proposal.
You can always edit Terms (and other sections) on the proposal before it is approved. Formatting: Rich text editing.
Tips
- Starting from a client page pre-fills client name and email via query parameters.
- You can edit everything after generation — AI is a starting point, not a locked template.
- Choose the correct currency before you send; currency locks when the proposal is approved.
This documentation is a living guide and may not cover every edge case yet. Features and labels can change as Docora evolves.
