Proposals

Editing and customizing content

Open any proposal from Proposals (/dashboard/proposals) or the dashboard.

What you can edit

In the proposal editor (/dashboard/proposals/[id]):

  • Title
  • Introduction, Timeline, and Terms — rich text (bold, italic, H3/H4, bullet and numbered lists). See Rich text editing.
  • Scope of work — plain-text line items (reorder, add, remove)
  • Pricing line items and currency (currency until the proposal is Approved)
  • Client details (while unlocked)

Use Save changes after edits. Rewrite with AI regenerates the full proposal from your brief and optional notes; Introduction, Timeline, and Terms are rewritten as plain text then stored as HTML for the editor.

Default terms

If you saved a default terms template in Settings, new proposals start with that Terms content. You can still edit Terms on each proposal before it is approved.

Branding on the document

Client-facing appearance uses your Branding settings (Pro+): company name, logo, and brand color. Update those under Settings → Branding.

When editing is blocked

Approved proposals are locked. You will see a banner explaining the lock. To change scope or pricing after approval, use Duplicate as new proposal — see What happens when a proposal is approved.

Draft, Sent, Changes requested, and Rejected proposals remain editable so you can revise and re-send.
